Kung Fu
“I was trying to become the ultimate technical musician -- able to play anything. Jazz fusion to me is the hardest music to play. You have to be so proficient on your instrument. Playing five tempos at the same time, for instance. I wanted to try the toughest music because I knew if I could do that, I could do anything.” - Randy Jackson
Through discipline, practice & study KUNG FU has sought excellence in the art of improvised dance music. Schooled by the masters, The Headhunters, Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orchestra and Frank Zappa, the quintet blends electro-jazz-funk with an EDM informed danceability at the highest level of skill & inspiration nightly. The resulting “NU-SION” is “captivating”, “explosive”, “jaw-dropping” and “musically mesmerizing. Prepare yourselves for a devastating, LETHAL FUNK to be rained down on you by a BAD-ASS BLACK-BELT BACKBEAT. For the uninitiated, the experience is typically shocking yet the focus is simple: ENTER THE DRAGON!
Kung Fu features Tim Palmieri on guitar, Robert Somerville (tenor sax), Todd Stoops (keyboards), Chris DeAngelis (bass), and Adrian Tramontano (drums/percussion).
*Kung Fu is also a Turkish rock band. Members of the group Öykü Akgürgen (vocals), Murat Altınözü (guitar), Alp Okçu (bass), Osman Konuray (drums, percussion). The first and only album name is "Tüm bu başlangıçlar (All these beginnings)"
